FORT WORTH, Texas, April 9 (UPI) -- Kasey Kahne captured Sunday's Samsung/Radio Shack 500 Nextel Cup race at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas.
Kahne, who will be 26 on Monday, is the 11th different winner in 11 Nextel Cup races at the speedway, and was the first driver to win the race from the pole position.
"The car got loose at the start (and) it took us a while to get going," Kahne said afterwards. "It was a heck of a run with Tony (Stewart) there."
Kahne's No.9 Evernham Dodge crossed the finish line 5.230 seconds ahead of Matt Kenseth after Kahne took the lead from Stewart with 27 laps remaining.
It was his second win of the season and the third of his Nextel Cup career.
Stewart, Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick completed the top-five. Jeff Burton, Scott Riggs, Martin Truex Jr., Mark Martin and Bobby Labonte completed the top 10.
