SUNRISE, Fla., April 8 (UPI) -- Sidney Crosby had a goal and three assists Friday night as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Florida Panthers, 5-1.

Ryan Malone had a goal and an assist; while Sebastien Caron stopped 36 saves for the Penguins (20-40-13), who broke a two-game losing streak and beat the Panthers for the first time since March 5, 2002.


Jay Bouwmeester scored the lone goal in the third period on an assist by Rostislav Olesz and goalies Roberto Luongo and Jamie McClennan made 22 stops on 27 shots for Florida (34-34-9), which has dropped its last three games and was eliminated from the Eastern Conference playoff chase.
