MLB: Boston 14, Baltimore 8

BALTIMORE, April 8 (UPI) -- Trot Nixon hit a two-run homer and drove in four runs Friday night as the Boston Red Sox pasted Baltimore, 14-8.

Boston took advantage of six walks by Baltimore starter Daniel Cabrera in the first inning. Three came with the bases loaded.

Manny Ramirez had three hits, scored three runs and had two RBI, Kevin Youkilis had three hits and drove in two runs; and Mike Lowell had two hits and two RBI for the Red Sox, who scored the game's first 11 runs.

Despite giving up nine hits and four runs through seven innings, winning pitcher Matt Clement (1-0) won his first decision of the season.

David Newhan hit a three-run homer; Brian Roberts had two hits and two RBI; while Ramon Hernandez had three hits and one RBI for the Orioles, who scored four times in both the seventh and eighth innings to make the final score respectable.
