MLB: Boston 14, Baltimore 8

BALTIMORE, April 7 (UPI) -- Matt Clement threw seven solid innings, and the Red Sox cashed in on six first-inning walks by Daniel Cabrera in 14-8 rout of Baltimore Friday night.

Trot Nixon hit a two-run homer and finished with four RBI for Boston, which scored four runs in the first -- three of them on bases-loaded walks.

Clement (1-0) allowed four runs on nine hits, walked one and struck out seven.

Cabrera (0-1) lasted just 1 1/3 innings. He walked seven batters in all, along with three hits, and allowed seven runs. Overall, the Orioles served up 14 walks, a team record.

Manny Ramirez went 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored for Boston. Kevin Youkilis had three hits and drove in two runs.

David Newhan hit three-run homer for the Orioles.
