MLB: Toronto 6, Minnesota 3

TORONTO, April 6 (UPI) -- Lyle Overbay had two hits, including a triple, Thursday night to help the Toronto Blue Jays beat Minnesota, 6-3.

Vernon Wells added two hits while Jason Phillips had two RBI and Russ Adams had a single and a stolen base. In his first start of the season, winning pitcher Gustavo Chacin (1-0), surrendered three runs and six hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

B.J. Ryan pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his second save.

Shannon Stewart went 2-for-4 and Mike Redmond added two hits for the Twins.

Loser Carlos Silva (0-1) gave up six runs -- five earned - and five hits in 5 2/3 innings with two walks and two strikeouts.
