BALTIMORE, April 5 (UPI) -- Jay Gibbons had three hits, including a home run, and four RBI Wednesday night as the Baltimore Orioles trounced Tampa Bay, 16-6.
Melvin Mora and Nick Markakis also homered; Brain Roberts and Ramon Hernandez each knocked in three runs; Kevin Millar had two hits and two RBI; and winning pitcher Erik Bedard (1-0) yielded three runs on eight hits in five innings with three walks and two strikeouts for the Orioles (2-0), who will try for a three-game sweep on Thursday night.
Jorge Cantu had a home run and two RBI; Toby Hall also drove in two runs; and loser Seth McClung (0-1) was torched for seven runs and five hits in just three innings with seven walks for the Devil Rays (0-2).
Overall, Baltimore has won nine of its last 11 overall against the Devil Rays and nine of its last 11 against them at Camden Yards.
