BEIJING, April 3 (UPI) -- Former boxing champ Mike Tyson, who is visiting China to promote a nightclub, Monday paid tribute at the memorial to the late Chairman Mao Zedong in Beijing.

The memorial is located at Beijing's Tiananmen Square, reports China Daily. The report said Tyson, a long-time admirer of the Great Helmsman, unexpectedly arrived in Beijing from Shanghai to offer his respects.

The new nightclub is located in Shanghai.

"I felt really insignificant next to the remains of Chairman Mao," Tyson was quoted as saying. "This is a great honor to be able to visit the memorial hall."
