CARSON, Calif., April 3 (UPI) -- Ante Razov scored a pair of goals and Brad Guzan posted a shutout in helping Chivas USA to an MLS season-opening 3-0 victory over Real Salt Lake.
Razov scored 21 minutes into Sunday's game, converting a pass from Claudio Saurez. Chivas USA increased its advantage four minutes later when Juan Pablo Garcia arced a shot past Real Salt Lake goalie Scott Garlick and into the left side of the goal.
Chivas USA went to 3-0 at the 65-minute mark with Razov scoring an unassisted goal on a blast from about 25 yards out.
Guzan's shutout was saved late in the first half when he went after a loose ball but had Real Salt Lake's Douglas Sequeira get by him. Before Sequeria could fire at the empty net, Chivas defender Tim Regan was able to intercept him.
