Nalbandian leads winners at Miami

MIAMI, March 30 (UPI) -- David Nalbandian and Ivan Ljubicic Wednesday led the men's quarterfinal winners at the NASDAQ-100 Open Tennis Tournament in Miami.

Ljubicic, the sixth seed, topped un-seeded Agustin Calleri of Argentina, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. The third-seeded Nalbandian, from Argentina, beat Mario Ancic, 6-2, 6-2. Ancic and Ljubicic are teammates on Croatia's Davis Cup squad.

In Thursday's quarterfinals, world No. 1 Roger Federer, the top seed, goes against No. 9 James Blake; Nalbandian faces Ljubicic, who rose to 24-3 for the season; and fourth-seeded Andy Roddick plays 11th-seeded David Ferrer of Spain. Federer is the reigning Miami champion, while Roddick won this event in 2004. The eventual winner will earn $533,350.
