
NASHVILLE, March 30 (UPI) -- Brendan Shanahan scored a key goal and added an assist Thursday night to help Detroit beat the Nashville Predators, 4-2.
Jason Williams, Tomas Holmstrom and Kris Draper also scored goals; Steve Yzerman had two assists; and goalie Manny Legace made 32 saves for the Red Wings (50-15-7), who have won nine of their last 11 outings.
Mike Sillinger and Scott Hartnell each had a goal; Steve Sullivan, Paul Kariya, Brendan Witt and Yanic Perreault added assists; and goaltender Tomas Vokoun made 30 saves on the 34 shots he faced for the Predators (42-23-8). Nashville has dropped four in a row but remains in fourth place in the Western Conference playoff race.
Nashville lost all three of its home games against Detroit this season.
The Red Wings already have clinched a playoff berth, and are in first place in the conference.
