VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 28 (UPI) -- Rookie Alex Burrows scored three goals in helping the Vancouver Canucks to a 7-4 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
Burrows scored twice in 3 minutes and 5 seconds during the second period Monday. Brendan Morrison had a goal between Burrows' scores as the Canucks went from being behind to a 5-3 lead.
The Canucks' first two goals came in quick succession, too, with Daniel Sedin and Anson Carter scoring within a minute of each other while Vancouver was on a first-period power play.
Mark Parrish had two early second-period goals for Los Angeles before the Vancouver three-goal spurt. Richard Park scored early in the third period for Vancouver and Burrows completed his hat trick with a goal with 7:19 left in the game and a 7-3 lead.
The victory pulled Vancouver into a tie with Edmonton for seventh in the Western Conference while Los Angeles, three points back of the Canucks and Oilers and one behind San Jose, slipped into 10th place in the race for eight playoff spots.
