LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., March 28 (UPI) -- Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga says contract holdouts will not be tolerated this season among draft picks, a report said.
Huizenga does not want a repeat of last year's preseason camp when first-round pick Ronnie Brown of Auburn held out for more money, the Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported.
While he did not directly criticize Brown, Huizenga suggested that Brown's three-week absence contributed to the team's poor 3-7 start.
"I personally am going to insist that that person we sign has got to be in camp to start," Huizenga said.
The Dolphins owner was more forgiving of three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Daunte Culpepper, obtained in an off-season trade with Minnesota, and returning running back Ricky Williams.
Huizenga said he is withholding judgment on Williams, who is appealing his fourth violation of the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
The Miami owner also said he's not concerned about Culpepper's involvement in the Vikings' so-called "Love Boat" scandal last year.
