NHL: Edmonton 3, Vancouver 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 26 (UPI) -- Edmonton's Steve Staios scored the go-ahead goal just over two minutes into the third period as the Oilers held on to beat the Vancouver Canucks, 3-2.

Ryan Smyth and Sergei Samsonov also scored for the visiting Oilers, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Goaltender Dwayne Roloson made 23 saves in the victory.

For Vancouver, Ryan Kesler and Brendan Morrison both scored. Markus Naslund and Todd Bertuzzi notched a pair of assists apiece while Alexander Auld stopped 26 of 29 shots on goal in defeat.

Edmonton has won six of eight against the Canucks this season.
