WASHINGTON, March 25 (UPI) -- Hilton Armstrong and Marcus Williams made the key plays in overtime Friday that carried Connecticut past Washington, 98-92, and into the NCAA's Elite Eight.

Connecticut took the lead for good in the extra period with 2:41 to play on two free throws by Denham Brown, but the game was not wrapped up until Armstrong and Williams both made two foul shots in the final 17 seconds.

Armstrong also got away with a goal tend that was not called with 1:49 to play that would have put Washington in front.

Five Washington players fouled out as Connecticut went to the line 45 times -- 21 more than its opponent.

Top-seeded Connecticut will play George Mason on Sunday with a berth in the Final Four on the line.
