Falcons give Mora new contract

ATLANTA, March 24 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Falcons have signed a new three-year contract with the team's coach, Jim Mora.

The team voided the last three years of the contract Mora signed when he was hired in 2004, which guaranteed him $7.5 million over five years, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The new contract includes a raise but the amount of money involved was not released.

The team has a 20-14 record under Mora, whose first job as a head coach was with the Falcons.

Under Mora's old contract, the team had the option of terminating it without penalty during the last two years.
