OAKLAND, Calif., March 23 (UPI) -- Rodney Carney scored 21 points Thursday night in helping Memphis pull away for an 80-64 win over Bradley in the NCAA Tournament's regional semifinals.

Memphis moved within a step of the Final Four by ending the dream run of the Braves, who at No. 13 had been the lowest seed remaining in the tournament.

The top-seeded Tigers scored the first seven points of the game, but Bradley came back to tie the contest before finally falling behind by five at the half.

Memphis then took control in the second half to move into the regional finals for the first time in 14 years.

Marcellus Somerville led Bradley with 18 points as the Braves ended their season at 22-11. Bradley had shocked Kansas and Pittsburgh to reach the regional semifinals.
