HAMPTON, Ga., March 20 (UPI) -- Kasey Kahne won Monday's rain-delayed Golden Corral 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway by finishing 1.928 seconds ahead of runnerup Mark Martin.

It was Kahne's first win of the season and second of his Nextel Cup career.

After a 24-hour rain delay, Kahne, who also was the pole winner, led the 43-car field to the green flag for 325 laps of racing. He led just one lap before Ryan Newman, Bobby Labonte and then Greg Biffle took turns leading the race.

Defending Golden Corral 500 winner Carl Edwards, who started 18th, was making a charge through the field to join the leaders and was up to third place by the second round of pit stops.

The first challenger out of the race was Labonte, whose engine gave way on lap 57.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart completed the top-five.

Bill Lester, the first African-American to drive in a Nextel Cup race in 20 years, finished 38th six laps behind Kahne.
