COL BKB: Villanova 82, Arizona 78

PHILADELPHIA, March 19 (UPI) -- Allan Ray scored a team-best 25 points Sunday as Villanova escaped with an 82-78 win over Arizona in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Philadelphia.

The game was part of the Minnesota Bracket.

Randy Foye had 24 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals; and Will Sheridan added 16 points and four rebounds for top-seeded Villanova (26-4), which became the fourth school from the Big East to advance to the Sweet 16. The others are Connecticut, Georgetown and West Virginia.

Marcus Williams had 24 points and six rebounds; Philadelphia native Mustafa Shakur had 21 points, four rebounds and five assists; and Hassan Adams added 20 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals for 8th-seeded Arizona, which ended at 20-12.

Villanova out-rebounded Arizona, 27-23 and will face a former Big East member, 4th-seeded Boston College, on Friday.
