
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 19 (UPI) -- Patrick O'Bryant scored 28 points Sunday as Bradley upset Pittsburgh, 72-66, in the Oakland Bracket of the NCAA Tournament.
The second-round contest was played at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Mich.
Marcellus Sommerville added 18 points and six rebounds, and Lawrence Wright had 14 points and nine rebounds for the 13th-seeded Braves (22-10). Bradley is the fourth 13th seed ever to reach the Sweet 16 -- joining Oklahoma in 1999, Valparaiso in 1998 and Richmond in 1988.
Levance Fields had 18 points and six rebounds; Carl Krauser added 17 points, six rebounds and five assists; and Aaron Gray had 12 points and four rebounds for the 5th-seeded Panthers, who finished 25-8.
Pitt was the fourth Big East school eliminated on the first weekend -- joining Syracuse, Seton Hall and Marquette -- and failed to reach the Sweet 16 for the second season in a row after three straight appearances.
