ORLANDO, Fla., March 16 (UPI) -- Bart Bryant and Dean Wilson share the first-round lead of the Bay Hill Invitational in Orlando after firing 6-under-par 66 in the first round.
"I seem to be putting a lot of rounds together where I hit the ball nice and give myself a lot of chances," said Wilson. "So far this year, I've done that a lot, so it's quite pleasing."
Former British Open champions Ben Curtis and Ernie Els both carded 5-under 67 and are tied for third place with Jason Gore, Lucas Glover and Bob Hope Chrysler Classic winner Chad Campbell.
A group of 10 players -- including Corey Pavin, Retief Goosen and Fred Funk -- came in at 3-under 69. World No. 1 Tiger Woods -- who won this event from 2000-2003 -- opened with a 2-under 70 and is part of a group tied for 23rd place that also includes Bernhard Langer, Tom Lehman and Geoff Ogilvy.
