COL BKB: Kent State 71, Toledo 66

CLEVELAND, March 11 (UPI) -- Kevin Warzynski scored 21 points Saturday as Kent State beat Toledo, 71-66, in the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game at Cleveland.

Mike Scott had 13 points and eight rebounds; DeAndre Haynes totaled 12 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals; and Warzynski also had five rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot for the Golden Flashes (25-8), who won the tournament for the fourth time in the last eight years.

Justin Ingram had 16 points, seven rebounds and two steals; Kashif Payne added 14 points and two assists; while Florentino Valencia had nine points and six rebounds for the Rockets (20-11), who have an outside chance at an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning 10 of their last 12 games.

Kent State won the battle of the boards, 34-28.
