COL BKB: Ohio St. 76, Purdue 57

COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 5 (UPI) -- In his final home game Sunday, Terence Dials had 20 points and four rebounds as 8th-ranked Ohio State trounced Purdue, 76-57, for its fifth straight win.

The victory gave the Buckeyes (23-4, 12-4 Big Ten) their first outright conference title since 1992.

Jamar Butler had 15 points and five assists; Matt Sylvester had nine points, three assists and two rebounds; and Je'Kel Foster had eight points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals for OSU -- which led by only 35-31 at the break but out-scored the Boilermakers, 41-26, in the second half.

They opened the final 20 minutes on a 19-6 run and the Boilermakers were never competitive after that.

Gary Ware -- the only Purdue player in double figures -- had 25 points, five rebounds and two assists. Purdue (9-18, 3-13 Big Ten) suffered its fourth straight loss.

Purdue, which was last in the conference, had an 0-12 road record this season.
