
PITTSBURGH, March 4 (UPI) -- Erik Cole had two goals before leaving the game with an injury and Eric Staal added a goal and three assists Saturday as Carolina beat Pittsburgh, 7-5.
Cory Stillman had a goal and two assists and Rod Brind'Amour had a goal and an assist for Carolina, which has won its last four games. Cam Ward allowed five goals on 38 shots faced to get the win.
Cole suffered a head injury after being driven into the boards from behind by Pittsburgh's Brooks Orpik early in the third period, and had to be helped off the ice.
Mark Recchi scored three goals and John LeClair added another for Pittsburgh as the Penguins got their fifth straight home game loss. Marc-Andre Fleury and Sebastien Caron combined to allow seven goals on 29 shots faced.
