NHL: N.Y. Islanders 3, New Jersey 2 (SO)

UNIONDALE, N.Y., March 2 (UPI) -- Trent Hunter and Miroslav Satan scored shoot-out goals Thursday night as the New York Islanders beat New Jersey, 3-2.

Brent Sopel and Jason Blake scored the other goal, Alexei Zhitnik added two assists and goaltender Rick DiPietro -- who stopped two shots in the shoot-out -- made 26 saves for the Islanders (26-28-4), who have won their last two games against New Jersey.

Jay Pandolfo and Scott Gomez scored goals; Brian Rafalski, John Madden, Brian Gionta and Sean Brown had assists; and goalie Martin Brodeur stopped 38 shots for the Devils (30-22-7), who failed to win back-to-back road games for the first time in more than a month.

The Islanders out-shot the Devils, 42-30. On the power play, the Islanders were 2-for-4 while New Jersey went 0-for-3.
