CHAMPAIGN, Ill., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Rich McBride scored a team-high 15 points Saturday as 8th-ranked Illinois pounded No. 22 Iowa, 71-59.
Brian Randle added 13 points and four rebounds; James Augustine had 12 points and seven rebounds; and Dee Brown, who had nine assists, was held to a season-low six points for the Fighting Illini (23-5, 9-5 Big Ten), who have won three of their last four games. Illinois has won nine of its last 12 games against the Hawkeyes.
Greg Brunner had a game-high 27 points, two assists and seven rebounds; Jeff Horner added 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists; and Mike Henderson had six points, three rebounds and a blocked shot for Iowa (20-8, 9-5 Big Ten), which has lost its last two games.
Illinois out-rebounded Iowa, 28-24, and committed only eight turnovers to 13 by the Hawkeyes.
