Tiger Woods loses in Match Play

CARLSBAD, Calif., Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Tiger Woods, the top seed in the Bobby Jones bracket, was beaten by No. 5 Chad Campbell Friday in the third round of the Accenture Match Play Championships.

The score was 1-down.

Also on Friday, David Toms, the No. 2 seed and 2005 champion, lost to U.S. Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman, 4 & 3; Phil Mickelson, the second seed in the Ben Hogan bracket, lost to No. 3 David Howell, 3 & 1; and Retief Goosen, the No. 1 seed in the Sam Snead bracket, beat No. 4 Luke Donald, 1-up.

No. 15 Zach Johnson beat No. 11 Shingo Katayama, 4 & 3; Vijay Singh, No. 1 in the Gary Player bracket, fell to No. 5 Padraig Harrington, 1-down, in 19 holes; Davis Love III, sixth in the Player bracket, beat last year's runner-up, Chris DiMarco, 3 & 2; and Geoff Ogilvy, the 13th seed in the Hogan bracket, beat No. 9 Mike Weir, 1-up.
