DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Amelie Mauresmo and Lindsay Davenport were among the second-round winners Wednesday at the Dubai Duty Free Women's Open.

The red-hot Mauresmo, the top seed in this event, won her 16th straight match by topping Henrieta Nagyova 6-3, 6-1. No. 2 Davenport, the defending champion, clobbered Elena Likhovtseva 6-0, 6-0.
Maria Kirilenko was a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Lucie Safarova; and seventh-seeded Francesca Schiavone ousted Selima Sfar 6-2, 6-3.
In highlight matches on Thursday, Martina Hingis plays Maria Sharapova while Justine Henin-Hardenne faces Schiavone.
