COL BKB: Memphis 66, UTEP 56

MEMPHIS, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Chris Douglas-Roberts scored 17 points Wednesday night to help 3rd-ranked Memphis beat UTEP, 66-56.

Darius Washington added 11 points, three rebounds and two steals; Rodney Carney had 10 points, two rebounds and two steals; and Shawne Williams had nine points and seven rebounds for the Tigers (25-2, 11-0 C-USA), who extended the nation's longest winning streak to 14 games.

Jason Williams had 18 points, three rebounds and two assists; Kevin Henderson had 13 points and four rebounds; and Stefon Jackson added 12 points, two rebounds and two assists for the Miners (17-7, 9-2 C-USA), who had a five-game winning streak snapped.

Memphis won the battle of the boards, 28-24.
