Roddick, McEnroe advance in SAP Open

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 18 (UPI) -- Andy Roddick beat Bjorn Phau in straight sets Friday in the SAP Open at HP Pavilion to move to the semifinals where he will face Andy Murray.

Murray beat Robin Soderling 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.

2002 SAP champion Lleyton Hewitt will face Vincent Spadea Saturday after beating Wayne Arthurs in straight sets. Spadea beat Kristof Vliegen 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 to make it to the semifinals.

In doubles action John McEnroe continues to win in his first ATP event since 1994.

The 47-year-old McEnroe and partner Jonas Bjorkman are in the semifinals after topping Ashley Fisher and Tripp Phillips in straight sets.
