NAPLES, Fla., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- R.W. Eaks shot a 7-under-par 65 Friday to grab a one-shot lead after one round of the ACE Group Classic at Naples, Fla., on the Champions Tour.

Tom Watson, who has 47 wins combined on the PGA and Champions Tours and is the reigning Senior British Open champion, is tied for second with Brad Bryant, Don Pooley and Rick Karbowski after a 6-under 66. Watson has never won in the state of Florida.

"The scoring conditions were ideal with no wind. I played well today," Watson said. "I've finished second a bunch of times in Florida, but I really can't explain not winning in the state."

Two-time winner winner Gil Morgan, Fuzzy Zoeller, Dan Pohl and Loren Roberts stand at 5-under 67. Bruce Summerhays, Dana Quigley, Keith Fergus, John Jacobs, Peter Jacobsen, Tom Jenkins, Massy Kuramoto, Jose Maria Canizares, Mike San Filippo and Des Smyth are tied for 10th at 4-under 68.
