Rose, Wilson co-leaders at the Nissan Open

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Justin Rose and Dean Wilson both shot 7-under-par 64 Thursday in the first round of the Nissan Open at Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Play was suspended near the end of the round by darkness.

Two-time Nissan winner Fred Couples carded a 5-under 66 and was joined in a tie for third place by 2000 runner-up Jesper Parnevik, 1998 winner Billy Mayfair and Bob Estes. Chad Campbell, who lost to Adam Scott last year in a playoff, opened with a 4-under 67 and is tied for seventh place with U.S. Ryder Cup captain Tom Lehman, Rod Pampling, Corey Pavin, Rory Sabbatini, Harrison Frazar and Trevor Immelman. Jason Schultz and Craig Barlow are also at minus-four, but have to complete the 18th hole.

Scott is one shot behind that group at minus-three. World No. 1 Tiger Woods, who has never won the Nissan in 10 career starts, shot 2-under 69 and is tied for 31st.
