CINCINNATI, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Coach Marvin Lewis of the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday signed a two-year contract extension through 2010.
In his three years with the Bengals, Lewis has a record of 27-22, including the playoffs. In 2005, Cincinnati was 11-5 and qualified for the post-season for the first time since 1990.
The Bengals lost 31-17 to eventual Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh in the first round of the AFC playoffs.
"Marvin has done a wonderful job for the football club on the field and off, and we want to reward his efforts and continue the relationship well into the future," said President Mike Brown on the team's Web site.
"My family and I are both flattered and thrilled by the support of Mike Brown and the Bengals organization," said Lewis. "Our coaches are excited, but certainly not yet satisfied, about our team and the progress we've made up to date."
