MOUNT HOLLY, N.J., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Charges are unlikely against Wayne Gretzky's wife Janet or others linked to a gambling ring allegedly financed by Phoenix Coyotes assistant coach Rick Tocchet.
John Hagerty, a spokesman for the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice told ESPN.com those suspected of placing bets are more likely to be called as witnesses next week against Tocchet and his alleged partners, New Jersey State Trooper James Harney and James Ulmer.
Janet Jones Gretzky is in Turin, Italy, where her husband, Coyotes coach Wayne Gretzky, is coaching the Canadian Olympic hockey team, ABC News said.
The three men charged are scheduled for a first appearance and arraignment Tuesday in Mount Holly, N.J., before Burlington County Superior Court Judge Thomas Smith.
