VILLANOVA, Pa., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- One day after his basketball team upset No. 1 Connecticut, Villanova Coach Jay Wright agreed to a contract extension through 2012-13.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The 4th ranked Wildcats improved to 20-2 after their thrilling conquest of UConn Monday night and moved to the top of the Big East standings.

Wright has a 96-56 record in four-plus seasons at the Villanova helm. His 2004-05 squad advanced to the Sweet 16 in the playoffs before falling to eventual national champion North Carolina.

"There's always been a special commitment from our administration to the basketball program at Villanova," Wright said.
