
RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Tony Bethel had 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists Sunday as 17th-ranked North Carolina State beat No. 23 Maryland, 62-58, for its third straight win.
Cameron Bennerman had 11 points and four assists; and Ilian Evtimov added 10 points and six rebounds for the Wolfpack (18-4, 7-2 ACC).
D.J. Strawberry had 14 points and three rebounds; James Gist added 13 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots; Mike Jones had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists; while Nik Caner-Medley totaled 10 points, 10 rebounds and three steals for the Terrapins (14-7, 4-4 ACC).
Maryland has lost its last three games. N.C. State out-rebounded the Terps, 38-33. The game turned into a three-point shooting contest, with the Wolfpack making 12 treys to Maryland's seven.
Maryland's Gary Williams still needs one victory to become the winningest coach in school history.
