NHL: N.Y. Islanders 5, Pittsburgh 4 (SO)

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Miroslav Satan had a hat trick in regulation and also scored in the shootout Saturday to give the New York Islanders a 5-4 win over Pittsburgh.

Trent Hunter also scored in the shootout and Rick DiPietro stopped both shooters he faced for New York, which has won four of its last five games. Chris Campoli got the other Islanders' goal in regulation and DiPietro finished with 40 saves.

Mark Recchi and Richard Jackman each had a goal and an assist and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 25 shots for Pittsburgh, which has lost five straight and 15 of its last 16 contests. Sidney Crosby and Tomas Surovy also scored for the Penguins.
