OTTAWA, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Daniel Alfredsson had two goals and an assist Thursday night as Ottawa blanked Montreal, 3-0.

Zdeno Chara also scored once; Wade Redden and Jason Spezza both had two assists; and goaltender Dominik Hasek needed to make only 12 saves to record his fifth shutout of the year for the Senators (34-10-4), who have won three in a row and five of their last six games overall

Hasek, who increased his career shutout total to 68, was never threatened by the anemic Ottawa offense.

Cristobal Huet was credited with 37 saves for the Canadiens (22-20-6), who have dropped four of their last five games.
