Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim will change their name to the Anaheim Ducks, beginning with the 2006-07 season, the team announced Friday.
The announcement by team owner Henry Samueli -- who along with his wife Susan purchased the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim last year from the Walt Disney Company last year -- also suggested the team might alter its logo and uniforms.
"The process is still very much underway," said Samueli, "and we do not expect to be ready to make any further announcements until the end of the season."
The team has been called the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim since the team came into the National Hockey League in 1993.
