CHARLESTON, W.Va., Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Mark Patton had 16 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday night as Marshall stunned 13th-ranked West Virginia, 58-52, ending WVU's 12-game winning streak.
Joe Miles scored 13 points; and Tre Whitted had 11 points, three rebounds and one assist for the Thundering Herd (8-9).

Kevin Pittsnogle had 20 points and six rebounds; Joe Herber had 10 points and seven rebounds; and Mike Gansey added 10 points, one assist and five rebounds for the Mountaineers (14-4).
It was the second straight season Marshall beat its cross-state rival. In the 2004-05 season, Marshall beat WVU, 59-55.
The Thundering Herd won the rebounding battle, 40-27.
