UNIONDALE, N.Y., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Marty Brodeur made 24 saves for his 79th career shutout Tuesday as the New Jersey Devils posted a 4-0 victory over the New York Islanders.
Scott Gomez and Jamie Langenbrunner each had a goal and an assist and Brian Gionta and Viktor Kozlov also scored for New Jersey, which has won 10 of its last 11 games.

The shutout moved Brodeur into seventh place on the NHL's all- time list.
Rick DiPietro allowed four goals on 17 shots for the Islanders, who have only three victories this month (3-7-1).
