FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Falcons Tuesday hired veteran NFL assistant Bill Musgrave as its new quarterbacks coach.
Musgrave, 38, served as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2003-04 and spent this past season as the quarterbacks coach for the Washington Redskins.
Musgrave also has been an assistant in Oakland, Philadelphia and Carolina and was the offensive coordinator at the University of Virginia from 2001-02.
A former NFL quarterback, Musgrave took over as the Eagles' offensive coordinator for the final 10 games of the 1998 campaign and held the same position with Carolina in 2000.
Musgrave replaces Mike Johnson, who was let go by Falcons Coach Jim Mora at the conclusion of the regular season.
