LOS ANGELES, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Elton Brand scored 35 points, including eight in overtime, Monday while leading the Los Angeles Clippers to a 102-93 win over the Utah Jazz.
Brand returned to action after two days off because of a right hip injury, and also had 14 rebounds and seven blocked shots.
Sam Cassell added 25 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals for the the Clippers, who have won three straight and four of their last six games.
Mehmet Okur scored 19 points and Gordan Giricek and Andrei Kirilenko each added 17 for the Jazz. Kirilenko also had 12 rebounds for Utah, which suffered only its third loss in the past 11 games.
With the game tied at 89-89 in overtime, the Clippers scored nine straight points, six by Brand, to lead 98-89 with 1:35 left in the game.
