NFL: Denver 27, New England 13

DENVER, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Mike Anderson ran for two touchdowns Saturday night as Denver beat New England, 27-13, in an AFC Divisional playoff game.

Champ Bailey returned an interception 100 yards to set up one of Anderson's touchdowns; Jake Plummer passed for 197 yards, one touchdown and one interception; while Rod Smith added 96 receiving yards and a score on six catches for the Broncos, whose defense forced five turnovers in the contest.

Tom Brady went 20-for-36 for 341 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions and Deion Branch added 153 yards on eight receptions for the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Patriots, who last suffered a playoff loss to Jacksonville on Jan. 3, 1999.

New England out-gained Denver, 420-286, in total offense.
