COLLEGE PARK, Md., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Mike Jones scored 22 points Sunday night to help No. 21 Maryland top Wake Forest, 90-86.
D.J. Strawberry added 18 points, four rebounds and four assists; Nik Caner-Medley registered 17 points and eight rebounds; and James Gist had 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists for the Terps (12-4, 2-2 ACC), who snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 10-0 at home this season.
The Demon Deacons once trailed by 17 points and came within three points twice late in the contest.
Justin Gray, who made seven three-pointers, had 38 points, four rebounds and two assists, while Harvey Hale had 12 points and six rebounds for Wake Forest (11-5, 0-3), which has lost three straight.
Wake Forest out-rebounded the Terps, 36-23, but shot only 40 percent for the game compared to 54 percent for Maryland.
