NHL: Detroit 4, N.Y. Rangers 3

DETROIT, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Brendan Shanahan scored two goals Saturday to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-3 victory over the New York Rangers.

Robert Lang and Johan Franzen scored the other two Detroit goals. Red Wings goalie Manny Legace stopped 21 shots.

The Red Wings have won four of their last six games.

Jaromir Jagr had a goal and an assist and Henrik Lundqvist made 32 saves for the Rangers, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

The Red Wings gained a 3-2 lead 5:48 into the third period and extended the lead to 4-2 with 5:21 remaining in the game.
