COL BKB: N.C. State 87, Georgia Tech 78

RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Cameron Bennerman recorded 16 points, four assists and two steals Saturday as 18th-ranked N.C. State beat Georgia Tech, 87-78.

Andrew Brackman, Cedric Simmons, Engin Atsur and Tony Bethel each added 14 points; Ilian Evtimov had 13 points and seven rebounds; Bennerman also had four rebounds and four assists; and Bethel had three rebounds and six assists as the Wolfpack (14-2, 3-1 ACC) picked up their third win in their last four games. The win gave N.C. State a record of 11-0 at home so far this season.

Jeremis Smith had 20 points and five rebounds; Anthony Morrow scored 15 points; Ra'Sean Dickey registered 12 points and 12 rebounds; and Smith added five rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (9-5, 2-1 ACC), who faded after Bennerman's three-pointer gave the Wolfpack a 76-67 lead with 3:46 remaining.

Georgia Tech out-rebounded NCSU, 33-27.
