DENVER, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Junior running back LenDale White of Southern California Wednesday announced his intention to enter the 2006 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-2 inch, 235-pound White, a native of Denver, finished the 2005 season with 1,302 rushing yards on 197 carries for 24 touchdowns. He added 14 receptions for 219 yards and two touchdowns.
"This was definitely a hard choice to come up with," said White at a press conference. "I would definitely like to thank my family, my team and my coaches. Without them, I wouldn't even be in this situation to make this choice. This is definitely a wonderful day for me and my family."
When Texas beat the Trojans, 41-38, in the national championship game at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 4, White gained 124 yards on 20 carries and scored three touchdowns.
