
WASHINGTON, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Kyle Calder scored in overtime Tuesday to hand the Chicago Blackhawks a 4-3 victory over the Washington Capitals.
Jaroslav Spacek had a goal and two assists and Radim Vrbata and Matthew Barnaby each added goals for the Blackhawks, who ended a 10-game non-winning streak.
Adam Munro made 34 saves for Chicago, which won for the first time since posting a 5-1 victory on Dec. 16 against St. Louis. The team had gone 0-8-2 during the skid.
Alexander Ovechkin had a goal and an assist and Brendan Witt and Brian Sutherby each had goals for the Capitals, who have lost their past five games. Olaf Kolzig made 29 saves in the loss.
The teams went into overtime after Washington came back from a 3-0 deficit with two second period goals and one more in the third.
