BLACKSBURG, Va., Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Tyler Hansbrough had 20 points and nine rebounds Tuesday as No. 20 North Carolina defeated Virginia Tech, 64-61.

North Carolina (10-2, 2-0 ACC) won its fourth straight game.

Wynton Witherspoon led Virginia Tech (10-6, 0-3 ACC) with 17 points and Zabian Dowdell had 13 points as the Hokies lost for the third time in their last four games.

Jamon Gordon scored 12 points and had six rebounds and Deron Washington added 11 points, as Virginia Tech fell to North Carolina for the 18th straight time.

The two squads combined for 37 turnovers -- 25 by the Tar Heels.
