FOXBORO, Mass., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Tom Brady tied a playoff career-high by throwing three touchdown passes Saturday night as New England topped Jacksonville, 28-3, in an AFC wild-card game.
Overall, Brady was 15-for-27 passing for 201 yards, Ben Watson had five receptions for 91 yards and a score, Kevin Faulk gained 51 rushing yards on six attempts, and Corey Dillon added 40 yards on 17 carries for the Patriots, who ran their playoff winning streak to an NFL-record 10 in a row.
Byron Leftwich, who had missed the last five straight games for the Jaguars because of a broken left ankle, went 18-of-31 for 179 yards, no touchdowns and one interception, which was returned for a touchdown by Asante Samuel in the fourth quarter. Leftwich added 26 rushing yards on three attempts and Matt Jones made six receptions for 94 yards as Jacksonville lost its first playoff game since dropping the 1999 AFC Championship game against Tennessee.
